Appendix 2 — Old Testament Passages Used in the Book of Mormon

The Old Testament (King James Version) was used in composing the Book of Mormon story line. The following is a list of Old Testament verses and chapters that were copied into the Book of Mormon but with the meaning essentially the same. An exception is the material from Isaiah 29 added to 2 Nephi — it was expanded to make it fit the nineteenth-century situation. This shows that in its composition, the Book of Mormon was dependent upon the Bible.
