The Pearl of Great Price is an assortment of short LDS scriptures, all of them produced by Joseph Smith between 1830 and 1843.
Joseph Smith said that God inspired him to translate the Book of Mormon from gold plates given him by an angel. It claims that Christ appeared to Israelites in the Americas shortly after his ascension. Is the Book of Mormon really God's word?
Doctrine and Covenants (D&C) is a collection of texts, mostly from Joseph Smith, that Mormons regard as modern revelations for the benefit of the restored Church.
Joseph Smith claimed to have translated the Book of Abraham from one of the ancient Egyptian scrolls purchased by the LDS Church in 1835. Lost for a century, pieces of the scrolls found in 1966 turned out to be pagan funeral texts.
Mormons use the King James Version of the Bible, but they claim that it is missing much material and that it has been copied and translated incorrectly. The Joseph Smith Translation (JST) was Joseph’s supposedly inspired revision of the KJV.
